Currently, there are 2 versions of ChatGPT: GPT3.5 and GPT4. ChatGPT 4 is the latest version of the Natural Language Generation (NLG) tool from OpenAI that auto-generates text. It can do things that the previous version never dreamed of.
One of the biggest updates and differences between ChatGPT-4 and GPT-3.5 is that ChatGPT-4 can see and understand images. GPT-4 can generate text and accept image and text inputs — an improvement over GPT-3.5, its predecessor, which only accepts text. GPT-3.5 can process only plain text input and produces natural language text and code output.
ChatGPT is also available on the App Store and Play Store.
Bing AI
As of my last update, Bing AI primarily refers to the artificial intelligence capabilities integrated into Microsoft's search engine, Bing. It includes various AI-driven features such as intelligent search results, natural language processing, image recognition, translation, and more. Bing AI is designed to enhance the search experience and deliver more relevant and contextually aware results to users.
Advantages of Bing AI
- Offers advanced search capabilities with intelligent results.
- Integrates with other Microsoft products and services.
- Provides features like translation, image recognition, and voice search.
Limitations of Bing AI
- Not specifically designed for in-depth conversational interactions like a language model.
- The conversational abilities may not be as sophisticated as dedicated language models like GPT.
Bard by Google
Bard is a conversational generative artificial intelligence chatbot powered by LaMDA (Language Model for Dialogue Applications) developed by Google. As an AI-powered bot, Google Bard is conversational offering users the scope to supply prompts and obtain human-like text and images. It is described as a large language model trained on a massive set of test data to provide comprehensive information.
Advantages of Bard
- Updated Information: Unlike other AI chatbots, Bard leverages the power of Google Search to provide up-to-date information from the web.
- Human-like Conversations: Bard can understand prompts entered through text or speech using natural language and even generate human-like conversations.
- Specific Generative Capabilities: Text generation is one of the core features of this chatbot. It can produce texts in different styles and formats including news articles, blog posts, letters, and email messages. It is also capable of creative writing.
- Real-Time Access to Websites: Bard has access to the web. It can access and process information from the real world through Google Search while keeping its responses consistent with search results.
- Extensions Through Plugins: The capabilities or features of this chatbot can also be extended using plugins.
- Biases, Inaccuracies, and Ambiguities: Chatbots can still provide biased or inaccurate information. The dataset used to train its model can still include biased data. It is also not always accurate or its response can be misleading or outdated
There are other AI tools and models that just came out this year, Snapchat has My AI - where a user can make conversations with the AI chatbot. Spotify has AI DJ, it was announced in March and has been rolling out to more users globally (and it's quite amazing!). I also got to use Microsoft Copilot for Office (Microsoft 365) for my article drafts and editorials.
It's important to note that the AI landscape is continuously evolving, and new developments may have occurred since my last update.
