Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, and Threads are all experiencing issues. The three Meta-owned platforms are not working for most users in multiple regions in the world, with the widespread outage starting around 6PM EAT.
It is reported that Facebook is logging users out of their accounts, leaving them unable to get back in. As on Instagram, some users are reporting that they are unable to refresh their feeds, and some others, stories and comments are not loading.
Threads is completely down. When opening the app, it displays an error message that says “Sorry, something went wrong. Try again.” WhatsApp is working well at the moment.
Reports on DownDetector rapidly spiked for all four platforms this evening. More updates to follow.
UPDATE: All platforms resumed to normal at about 9PM
