Galaxy Ring
The Galaxy Ring is Samsung's latest innovation in health and wellness technology. This titanium wearable, first introduced at the Galaxy S24 Series launch, is packed with sensors like an accelerometer, and PPG sensors for blood flow measurement, and skin temperature detection. These features allow it to track various health metrics, including sleep quality, heart rate, respiratory rate, and menstrual cycles.
A standout feature of the Galaxy Ring is its Energy Score, which offers a comprehensive view of the user's health and personalized improvement suggestions. Unlike many health tech products, Samsung has opted not to use a subscription model for these services.
The Ring also includes automatic workout detection, heart rate alerts, and inactivity reminders to promote an active lifestyle. It features pinch gesture controls for interacting with Galaxy smartphones, such as taking photos or dismissing alarms.
Pairing the Galaxy Ring with a Galaxy Watch can extend its battery life by up to 30%. The Ring itself lasts up to seven days on a single charge and comes with a quick-charging case.
Priced at $400 (51,600 KES), the Galaxy Ring is a significant investment in personal health technology. However, it is currently not available in the Kenyan market.

Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6
Samsung's latest foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6, feature a slimmer, lighter design with enhanced structural integrity. They include a reinforced folding edge and improved screen layering to reduce creasing. Both devices use Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for durability and are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
The Z Fold 6 has an enlarged vapour chamber for better thermal management, while the Z Flip 6 introduces a vapour chamber for the first time. Both models incorporate AI features, including the Google Gemini app for generating images and drafting emails, and AI-powered camera enhancements.
A standout feature is the Interpreter app, which uses the dual-screen format for natural conversations, displaying translations on both screens with on-device processing for privacy and speed. The displays are slightly larger this year, with the Z Fold 6's main screen 2.7mm wider and the cover screen 1mm wider. Both devices have a peak brightness of 2,600 nits.
The Z Flip 6 also boasts a significant camera upgrade with 50MP wide and 12MP ultra-wide sensors, and 2x optical zoom on the primary sensor.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 starts at $1,899 (KES 264,000), and the Z Flip 6 starts at $1,099 (KES 148,000). You can place pre-orders at authorized Samsung stores and e-commerce partners from July 11 to July 31.
